Will Pep play Rodri vs Luton Town?

By now we all know that Rodri is tired.

What we don’t know is what City Manager Pep Guardiola is going to do about it.

Here’s what Pep did say:

“If a player doesn’t want to play then he’s not going to play, simple.” (BBC)

Hmm. So it’s up to Rodri?

My bet is that Rodri will not start versus Luton Town.

Nor will Haaland.

The mid-week Champions League match versus Real Madrid is just too important and will be too intense to go into it without properly rested players.

If needed Rodri and Haaland will be able to come off of the bench. I say Pep will try to squeeze by Luton Town using as few of his top players as possible.

It’s risky – because the uber-competitive Premier League – The Best League in the World – can make you pay if you don’t respect your opponents.

But that’s what I think Pep will do.
