Arsenal vs Luton Town 2-0

Mikel Arteta did not have the injured Bukayo Saka available, and chose to rest Gabriels Jesus and Martinelli, and still managed a comfortable win at home vs relegation threatened Luton.

Martin Odegaard lead the way for the Gunners in every way, including the first goal.

But the seldom used Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson also made important contributions.

Said Arteta of the two:

“I look at my players in my squad in a different way – it’s a joy to have them fit. If we want to utilise the squad and maximise what they have, they have to play. I think it was the right moment to do that and they responded really well. I’m so happy with that because I think we’ve won again, especially with a few players with good confidence, physically with the rhythm right now and they’re going to be really important for us.” (Arsenal)

Arsenal’s defense was too much for Luton’s injury-riddled team, who failed to score a goal for the first time in eighteen Premier League games.

The win lifted Arsenal back into top spot over Liverpool who will play Sheffield United at Anfield today and be heavily favoured to earn all three points.
